Why We Celebrate
Simply put, we find nylon stockings to be both beautiful and fascinating. They are, at the same time, tremendously powerful and yet so delicate. So simple in function, yet produced using a highly complex manufacturing process.
Of course, their initial attraction is legendary. It is hard to dispute the sensual allure that legs adorned with nylon stockings create. Actresses, dancers, burlesque performers and everyday people continue to slide on their stockings to add a spice to their lives and the lives of others who are lucky enough to be treated to a glimpse of the welt. But they are so much more… Nylon stockings have a rich & complex history that tell a story of technology & design, industry titans, unions and workers rights, marketing & advertising and of course, the sex appeal… all set during the second phase of the industrial revolution and at a time of world war.
Feeling sweet and elegant in white. My white bridal robe was used in for an actual wedding night before I poshed it. Other poshed items include my white lace underbust corset, my white lace shaping body suit, and my six strap garter belt. My stockings are Gio fully fashioned and my pumps have five inch stiletto heels.

When nylon stockings hit the market on May 15, 1940, they sparked a consumer frenzy. Women thronged stores by the thousands, leading to a sell-out of four million pairs in just four days. This fervor led to the phenomenon known as the “Nylon Riots,” marking the commencement of a hosiery revolution.

To make the occasion even more special, we are excited to give away a rare pair of vintage stockings from our collection. This year, we are offering a pristine pair of Kayser Evening Sheer stockings. These unworn gems, still in their original box and tissue paper, hail from the 1950s. They are Size 8.5 and come in the elegant color “Saucy Taupe.” While the box does not specify the denier, they are incredibly sheer, likely around 15 denier.
These stockings would make a stunning addition to any collection or a perfect accessory for a special occasion.
